Nimesha DishAni
I am a self-taught artist from Thissamaharama, Sri Lanka. I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember — since childhood. What started as a quiet obsession with getting the details right eventually became something I could not stop doing.
I work primarily with colour pencils, graphite, and charcoal. Colour pencils are my signature — most people do not believe the level of detail and realism that is possible with them. I also create with watercolour, which brings a different kind of freedom to the work.
Over the years, I have won several art competitions at the national level in Sri Lanka. These were school-level competitions, but they gave me the confidence that my eyes and hands were seeing and doing something worth sharing.

Colour Pencil
Her signature medium. Layered, patient, hyperrealistic work that people mistake for photographs.
Graphite
Precision and subtlety. Perfect for portraits where every shadow and every strand of hair matters.
Charcoal
Bold, dramatic, expressive. Charcoal gives the work depth and atmosphere that graphite alone cannot achieve.
Watercolour
Fluid and free. Watercolour pieces carry a softness and spontaneity that balances the precision of her pencil work.

A Quiet Corner in Thissamaharama
My studio is simple — a desk near a window, natural light, and silence. That is all I need. The best work happens in the quiet, when it is just me and the paper and the pencil.
Thissamaharama is far from the gallery circuit, far from the urban art world. But that distance is what gives the work its character. There is no rush here. Only patience.
