MY LITTLE ART JOURNEY

From a Quiet Hobby to DishAni Arts

My Little Art Journey

There has always been a quiet part of me that finds happiness in creating things.

For as long as I can remember, drawing has been one of those little things I could return to whenever I needed a break from everything else. It was never just about making something look beautiful. Sometimes, it was simply about sitting down with a pencil, a piece of paper, and a little time for myself.

That quiet feeling slowly became something much more meaningful.

Where It All Began

Like many artists, my journey didn't begin with a perfect plan.

I started with simple drawings, little experiments, and plenty of mistakes. I tried different things without really knowing where they would take me. Some drawings turned out well, while others taught me exactly what I needed to improve.

But I kept drawing.

Over time, I became more interested in realistic art, especially portraits. I loved the challenge of observing a face carefully and trying to recreate those tiny details: the shape of the eyes, the expression, the texture of the hair, and the shadows and highlights that make a face feel alive.

Graphite and charcoal became a big part of my journey. I spent hours learning how to create smooth values, soft transitions, darker shadows, and tiny details. Sometimes, a single area of a drawing would take much longer than I expected.

And honestly, that is still one of my favourite parts of drawing.

There is something special about watching a blank piece of paper slowly become a person.

Learning, Experimenting, and Starting Again

As I continued exploring art, I didn't want to stay with just one medium.

I experimented with colour pencils, watercolour, acrylics, oil pastels, and eventually started exploring oil painting as well.

Every medium felt different.

Some were comfortable. Some were frustrating. Some made me start over more times than I would like to admit. But every new medium taught me something, not only about art, but also about patience.

I began to understand that becoming better at art isn't about suddenly knowing everything.

It's about being willing to learn one small thing at a time.

A new technique.

A different way of seeing light.

A better understanding of colour.

A little more patience with the process.

Even now, I consider myself a learner.

The Beginning of DishAni Arts

Somewhere along the way, my personal art journey slowly became something I wanted to share with other people.

That was the beginning of DishAni Arts.

It started as a name for the things I created, but over time it became much more than that. It became a little space where I could share my artwork, experiments, studies, finished pieces, unfinished pieces, and everything in between.

I also began creating portraits for people who wanted something personal: a drawing of someone they love, a family member, a pet, or a special moment they wanted to keep in a different form.

There is something incredibly meaningful about creating art for someone else.

When a drawing leaves my hands and becomes part of someone else's home, it feels like a small piece of my creative journey has travelled somewhere new.

And that is something I never want to take for granted.

Why I Love Creating

For me, art has never been only about the final picture.

I love the process.

The quiet hours.

The tiny details.

The messy stages that nobody sees.

The moments when a drawing doesn't look right yet.

The satisfaction of finally getting one small part right.

Sometimes I can spend hours working on something and realise I haven't noticed how much time has passed.

That is probably one of the reasons art feels so peaceful to me.

The world becomes a little quieter when I'm drawing.

I don't have to rush. I don't have to have everything figured out. I can simply focus on the next line, the next shadow, the next little detail.

Art is where my mind finds freedom and my soul finds peace.

Still Becoming an Artist

I don't think an artist ever really reaches a point where there is nothing left to learn.

There will always be another technique to explore, another medium to try, another subject that feels difficult, and another skill that needs more practice.

And I actually like that.

I want to keep learning.

I want to improve my portraits, understand colour and light more deeply, explore oil painting, experiment with different forms of art, and eventually create artworks that feel completely my own.

Some days I feel proud of what I've created.

Other days, I look at an old drawing and immediately notice everything I could have done better.

But both feelings are part of the journey.

Every drawing becomes a little record of where I was at that moment.

A Little Space Called DishAni Arts

Today, DishAni Arts is still growing.

It is a place for my artwork, but also a place for learning, experimenting, and sharing the quieter side of being an artist.

Through this website, I hope to share more than just finished artworks.

I'll be sharing pieces of my creative journey, art studies, behind-the-scenes moments, techniques I'm learning, things I've discovered along the way, and perhaps a few lessons from the mistakes I make too.

Because I know there are many people who love art but sometimes feel that they aren't "good enough" to start.

I hope this little space reminds you that you don't have to be perfect to begin.

You just need a little curiosity, some patience, and the courage to make the first mark.

And This Is Only the Beginning...

DishAni Arts is still a work in progress, just like me.

There are many things I want to create, many ideas waiting to be explored, and many skills I still want to learn.

Maybe this journey will change in ways I can't predict.

Maybe I'll discover completely new forms of art along the way.

But for now, I'm happy to keep creating, keep learning, and keep finding little moments of peace through art.

Thank you for being here and taking a little time to visit my creative space.

This is my art journey.
